Message 1. Are there any XML4J-specific features that are being used by GEF
(features not implemented in other XML processors)?

2. Is there any chance that GEF will move over to using Sun's SAXP XML
processing framework? Everybody that builds from CVS already has it (ANT
depends on it) and it allows for automatic pluggable XML processors;
theoretically, you can switch between XML4J and Sun Project X (JAXP
Reference Implementation 1.0) just by setting a property (in
system.properties, I believe).

I think this will work better because (a) SAXP is likely to be included in
JDK 1.4 according to Sun's website, (b) it lets the developer (GEF-user)
decide which XML processor they want to use, and (c) developers (users)
don't have to install XML4J if they already are using another XML processor.
